We’ll begin the day with an education session diving deep into the client experience — how to prepare, connect, and create a space where your couples feel safe to be their most authentic selves.
You’ll learn the tools and psychology behind my storytelling approach — how I read energy, guide couples through emotion, and capture intimacy in a way that feels cinematic and real.
Then, we’ll step into a 2-part styled engagement shoot with a real couple, where you’ll have the chance to put everything into practice - observing how I work and then getting hands-on to create your own storytelling magic.

These aren’t your average “shoot alongs.” With my teaching background, every workshop is designed around a clear learning intention — starting with an education session where we dive into storytelling, client experience, or creative expression.
Then we move into a fully styled, editorial shoot that I’ve curated with purpose. You’ll be guided with educational touch points throughout, so instead of just snapping the same shots as me, you’ll actively practise new skills, direct with confidence, and create work that feels like you.
You’ll leave with not only a killer portfolio, but the knowledge and confidence to apply these skills with your own clients straight away.

Hi, I’m Shan! A Melbourne-based candid, storytelling photographer with a background in psychology, English literature and teaching (which means I’m basically obsessed with people and their stories).
I’ve helped hundreds of couples feel comfortable in front of the camera, and I’ve built an approach rooted in storytelling, symbolism, and authentic connection.
Now, I’m sharing the tools and practices that have allowed me to:
